The Japanese Yew is a must for any shaded landscape.  The dark rich green foliage holds year round. "Yewtopia" is a Southern Living plant collection.

It has an upright bush form growth habit. The spreading Yew, grows to about the same size, with same color and  use, but it's branches are more horizontal in habit. Almost like a bird nest  pattern.  

Keep evenly moist until plant is well rooted and established. During summer heat, even mature Yew needs regular watering. Rich well drained soil is a must for this shade loving shrub.
