Name: Sago Palm
Prefers: Full Sun, mostly sun
Season to plant: spring and summer

Sago Palm is a hardy sturdy specimen plant that can handle our winters and add dramatic architecture to any garden for the summer months. Many winters we get leaf burn on this palm, this has not killed it.

Remove burnt leaves before spring and the new fronds emerge as the season warms up. Sago palm is heat loving and can be drought tolerant  once established.

To trim the spent leaves, reach down as far to trunk as possible, they are prickly, and trim the leaf there. The trunk will grow over the years to become a hardy thick base supporting the arching leaves each summer.
