Perennials are deciduous plants that die back each year and returns the following season with new growth.

With countless shapes, sizes, leaf textures, flower colors, and heights the uses are endless.

Unlike annuals, many perennials do not have a bloom cycle that lasts all season. Many may last from a couple of weeks to a couple of months, leaving a plant that can at times be on the rangy and unruly side for the remainder of the year.

To ensure that a planting area of perennials will remain attractive and appealing it is often best to use a variety of plants creating a blooming cycle that will evolve from one species to another and make the planting as a group more attractive.

This can take a few seasons of adding to , and amending the plantings to give you the look you are trying to achieve. Normally Perennials are available for sell when they are at their peak, and therefore, if you are beginning to plant your area in the spring some of the late spring and summer and fall bloomers are not in stock. So keep in mind that you will want to
add to your bed as the seasons change, and more species become available.

As an added bonus many of the flowers also make great Cut - Flowers to bring inside and enjoy them indoors as well.
