Recycling: Finally available for nursery industry plastics....
Imagine buying a flat of Pansies this fall, returning the containers to us at The Flower ranch, and possibly buying next year's pansies in the same plastic recycled into new flats and pots. After many years of trying to get the industry on board, and a few failed attempts with local growers, we now have a nationally backed program from our plastic vendor, East Jordon Plastics.
How the new program works:
After you get through planting, knock the loose dirt off the flats, stack them up and return them to us here at the nursery. We have a new storage bin located up front to drop off the used plastic. We will collect all the nursery plastic and store it, when East Jordan delivers our next load, we will ship all the used plastic back to the company for them to recycle into more containers and flats. At this time, all we are collecting is nursery plastic: flats, pots and shrub containers. No household or industrial plastic waste can be collected for this program. Even if you did not buy the product from us we will gladly accept the plastic for recycling.
