Planting tips:

The weather here in the last several weeks has been incredible. Finally a real "Fall" here in north Texas with cool nights and pleasant days. As pleasant as it has been for people and flowers it has also been just as perfect for insects. It may be a good idea to apply or re-apply a broad spectrum insecticide to your plants for prevention.

If your pansies have been planted a few weeks and they are established in the beds it is a good idea to cut back on the watering. Allow them to dry thoroughly between watering.

The exception to watering rule:
When there is a hard freeze in the weather forecast it is recommended to make sure the beds are adequately wet before a freeze. A wet or moist bed will survive a hard freeze better than a dry bed.

Feed back and suggestions about Rabbits:
Cute and cuddly and fuzzy is one thing, but when it comes to eating up a bed of freshly planted pansies that is a different story. Over the years we have heard of many remedies and suggestions for controlling and deterring the fuzzy little friends. If you have tried any method or product and have had success with it we would like to hear from you. We will pass along any helpful suggestions.
