Although the spring months have given way to our summer heat, we still have a great selection of heat & sun loving annuals available:Coleus, Lantanas, Pentas, Hibiscus, Zinnias, Moss rose, Purslane, Purple fountain grass, Mexican heather, and many other great varieties to choose from.

Our shrub selection is growing weekly. If you have not had the opportunity to visit our new shrub area, stop by and take a look.

Planting tips for our Summer months:

Water thoroughly: Allow drying between watering, but when you do water, a deep soaking is much better for the plants.

Mulch: Top dress your annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs with 1-2 inches of mulch (personal preference of material is fine, Pine bark, cedar or hardwood. Are all good selections) to retain moisture in the ground especially during our hot summer weather.

Containers and pots: Our summer heat will dry out containers rapidly. Water them completely through when they need water. Allow the water to totally saturate the soil of your container for best results. Placing saucers under pots and containers when available is another good idea for this time of year to help the moisture level.

Water wisely: Try to avoid watering during the heat of the day. Watering before the hottest part of the day or later in the afternoon will conserve water as it evaporates less. Also some plants can burn if you get them wet while the sun is beaming down on them.
