Name: Heuchera *Coral Bells |
||
Although Heuchera is evergreen for our climate, we have included it in the annual section to add another selection for the shaded gardens. The tall slender spike of bloom that it shoots up during the summer is almost insignificant to the foliage and texture it creates in the garden for the entire year. A couple of hours of morning sun, all day filtered shade, to mostly shade is the ideal location for Heuchera. We may sound like a broken record talking about bed prep and well drained rich soil when we mention most annuals, and it is true. But for Heuchera it is NOT an option, it is a MUST. To ensure success with Heuchera add compost, landscape mix, organic matter and any other natural element into our junky soil to give Heuchera the best chance to thrive and enjoy years of it's colorful foliage. |
