The closest way to describe Calibrachoa "miniature petunia on a blooming steroid". Although they are not true petunias they are closely related. Smaller blooms that count into the 100's on each cascading and trailing plant make a great addition to any container or planter allowing them to spill over. When planted in the ground they are more of a ground cover and perform equally as well. Even though these are heat and humidity hardy and bred to be tougher and more resilient than petunias, many summers a trim and prune help get these through our summer with fuller more attractive plants. Trim as much as half to three quarters off the plant when they get a little stringy. Calibrachoa are very cold tolerant and should last well into the fall up to the first good freeze. During peak blooming and growing season, these bloomers enjoy regular feeding.
